Restaurant in Umbria

My favorite restaurant in Umbria - Bar Ristorante Da Giovannino

There is one family restaurant in Umbria where you are just fine. Here I want to sing odes to Italian Umbrian cuisine, enjoy life with friends. Not everyone was given to get here, but if you ever find yourself here, I will be sincerely glad for you.

Bar ristorante da giovannino - restaurant by the road 10 kilometers from Assisi. This, now no longer a secret, place was opened for us by the owner of the villa Relais Parco Subasio Christian, about whom we wrote.

Here is a classic Italian story: mom cooks in the kitchen, children work as waiters, and dad writes bills at the bar. Accounts, looking ahead, I will say penny prices.

The restaurant's interior is quite ascetic, but that's not the point.

Before studying the menu, we will order a liter of homemade wine for 5 euros. Friends, 5 euros - do you understand? Even in the cheapest Roman Carlo Menta you will pay 8 euros.

Now let's start exploring the menu.

Homemade pastes prevail, I advise you to just try everything in order every day: Strangozzi, Spaghetti, Ravioli. You have already paid attention to the price of dishes.

The second course, of course, is meat.

And now let's move on to realities and specifics. Company antipasti, take it for 2-4 people to warm up - you will go crazy with smells and taste. Should I describe every ingredient if the Internet does not transmit smells? You can only fantasize.

Bread, give me more of this incredible bread.

Another liter of homemade wine to make it more fun. At one of the dinners, I asked to bring a few bottles of the best bottled wine, after specifying that nothing should be brought for 100 or more euros. To which a soothing response was received by the waitress that they already have no wine more than 15 euros per bottle.

In fact, you can choose any kind of pasta and “sauce” filling. We tried everything and were delighted.

But what impressed me most was the lamb steak. All the meat that I tried before that day turned out to be different. I admit, I did not even imagine what could be SO delicious!

If you come to Rome for a few days and want to get acquainted with the features of Umbrian cuisine, then I recommend a one-day tour from Rome to Umbria with gourmet Vladislav Doro.

Santa Lucia Station in Venice

The first thing that guests of Venice see when arriving in the city on the water by train is the Santa Lucia Station (Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia). This building can be called a "black sheep" among other Venetian buildings: it was built relatively recently: in the middle of the 20th century. Nevertheless, when the tourist’s foot just steps on the platform of Santa Lucia, he immediately smells an amazing Venetian smell of damp and mud, which, however, still conveys a certain romantic spirit.
